Job Description
High School Head Coach•Cheer
North Marion School District is seeking a positive and student-centered Head Coach for Cheer to lead and support our high school athletic program. Coaches play an important role in helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field through skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and character.
Successful candidates will build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the community while creating a safe, inclusive, and competitive athletic environment aligned with District and OSAA expectations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead and oversee all aspects of the high school Cheer program
Teach sport-specific skills, strategies, teamwork, and sportsmanship
Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes
Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful team culture
Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and administration
Support student-athlete growth, accountability, and academic success
Comply with all North Marion School District and OSAA rules, policies, and expectations
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
Required Qualifications:
NFHS/ASEP
certification required
Completion of all required OSAA and District trainings prior to season start
Successful background and criminal history clearance prior to interaction with students
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and community members
Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience preferred
Bilingual Spanish skills preferred
