Job Description

Two Positions Available The Assistant Football Coach serves under the direction and supervision of the Head Coach and Athletic Director. The person will help plan, organize, and direct the JV Football program as well as manage the conduct of athletes in the locker room, at practices and team functions, on the bus, and at games. Independent judgment and decision-making are required in many matters not having established rules, regulations, policies, or precedent. All coaches must complete staff training on Child Abuse Identification and Prevention in Oregon Schools; Sexual Misconduct - Staff-to-Student; and Bullying Prevention in Oregon Schools. Trainings in Coaching Fundamentals, Heads Up Football, Concussion Management, and Steroid Education are also required. All coaching contracts are issued on a year-to-year basis.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Must be willing to be fingerprinted for a criminal history records check; Possess or be able to obtain a current first aid card (first aid card is required); Knowledge and ability to help build and maintain a quality football program; Communicate effectively and maintain professional rapport with students, staff, parents, and patrons; Minimum of one year competitive football coaching experience (high school or higher); Ability to work with high school age athletes and establish a priority for good sportsmanship; Ability to maintain student confidentiality; Must know, understand, and adhere to district policy and school expectations. Willingness to initiate and sustain fundraising, networking with all JCHS athletic programs.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED
Ability to plan and lead practices to build competitive individual and team skills; Responsible for the conduct of athletes (locker room, practice, bus, and games); Responsible for equipment issue and care of equipment; Ability to provide athletes with proper conditioning and ability to prevent and treat injuries.
