Club Volleyball Head Coach Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy Portland, OR Job Details Part-time | Seasonal $1,000 - $1,500 a month 8 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Sports team experience Team development Mentoring Organizational skills Leadership Full Job Description Job Summary As an OJVA Coach, you will be responsible for leading or assisting in the instruction and strategic execution of team practices and tournament gameplay. You will foster a positive team culture, mentor athletes, and effectively communicate with parents and club administration. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and execute high-energy practices focused on skill development, positional training, and team strategies. Provide active, constructive in-game coaching and strategic adjustments during regional and/or national tournaments. Foster a competitive, positive, and inclusive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, accountability, and teamwork. Evaluate athlete performance and provide regular, constructive feedback to support individual growth. Maintain professional and timely communication with players, parents, and OJVA club directors. Ensure athlete safety at all times during practices, tournaments, and team travel.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Prior competitive volleyball experience (playing or coaching) at the club, high school, or collegiate level is highly preferred.
Certifications:
Must possess or be willing to obtain USA Volleyball (USAV) / CEVA coaching requirements, including a background check, SafeSport certification, and IMPACT certification.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of modern volleyball techniques, systems (e.g., 5-1, 6-2), and training methodologies. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Availability:
Ability to commit to 2-3 evening practices per week and weekend tournaments (local and/or travel) throughout the club season. Pay:
$1,000.00 - $1,500.00 per month
