Job Description

MERCYHURST PREPARATORY SCHOOL ERIE, PA JOB PURPOSE
Mercyhurst Prep is seeking a Head Coach for the Girls' Volleyball Team. The coach provides vision, leadership and oversight for all aspects of the program. The primary responsibility is to train and coach the student-athletes participating on the team and to help each of them to achieve a high level of skill while also developing an appreciation for the value of sportsmanship.
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior volleyball team coaching experience is required.
Other qualifications include:
Technical knowledge of the sport along with the ability to teach and demonstrate specific skills. Knowledge and understanding of the standards and requirements of PIAA. Excellent and proven leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and communication skills. The ability to inspire and motivate a group of young individuals and facilitate team-building sportsmanship, safety and school spirit while helping the athletes develop their skills and confidence. A commitment to the academic achievement of the student-athletes. The ability to model good sportsmanlike behavior. To represent MPS and the team in a positive and professional manner. To create a structured environment with a commitment to the personal and athletic growth of all team members. This is a part-time, seasonal position with games in fall and off-season workouts.
