Job Description
Make a Splash with the YMCA of the Roses! The YMCA City Center in Lancaster is seeking enthusiastic Swim Instructors to help swimmers of all ages build water skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of swimming. In this role, you'll lead engaging lessons in a safe, supportive environment while encouraging participants to develop new abilities and feel comfortable in the water. We're looking for individuals who are energetic, patient, and passionate about teaching and water safety. If you enjoy working with people and making a positive impact through swim instruction, this is a great opportunity to share your skills and help others succeed. Instructs swimming lessons as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines, following lesson plans provided for each class level. Develops and maintains positive relationships with program participants and parents/caregivers while supporting them in achieving their goals. Relays information regarding participants' progress as well as other programs to parents/caregivers, when appropriate, while maintaining a friendly and warm atmosphere. Maintains records as required (e.g., attendance, parent handbooks, certificates). Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary. Attends staff meetings and in-service trainings when requested.LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES

Swim Instructor I Must have or obtain CPR Pro and First Aid certification Obtain a state police clearance, a child abuse clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance. Obtain Mandated Reporter Clearance. Swim Instructor II Must have or obtain CPR Pro and First Aid certification Obtain a state police clearance, a child abuse clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance. Obtain Mandated Reporter Clearance. High School Diploma 3 years teaching swim lessons experience OR completion of YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor (YSLI) Training. Swim Instructor III Must have or obtain CPR Pro and First Aid certification Obtain a state police clearance, a child abuse clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance. Obtain Mandated Reporter Clearance. High School Diploma Meet all requirements for Level II 5 years of experience teaching swim lessons 3 years of experience supervising a staff teamWORK ENVIRONMENTPHYSICAL DEMANDS
