Eichhorn Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the 8th Grade Boys Basketball Coach for the upcoming seasonal basketball program. Responsibilities Develop and implement practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Conduct daily practices and prepare the team for games, ensuring all players understand their roles and responsibilities. Organize and oversee all aspects of the basketball season, including scheduling games, transportation, and equipment management. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages participation, growth, and respect among players. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and player progress. Monitor and support the academic and personal development of student-athletes, ensuring they maintain a balance between sports and academics. Enforce school policies and guidelines regarding conduct and behavior during practices and games. Attend all games and support the team during competitions, providing guidance and encouragement. Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the overall athletic program at Donald H. Eichhorn Middle School. Requirements Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level, is preferred. Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff. Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to achieve their best both on and off the court. Commitment to promoting a safe and supportive environment for all team members.
