Assistant Soccer Coach

The Phelps School is seeking an innovative, energetic Assistant Soccer Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The position offers a tremendous opportunity to work with an elite soccer program at an independent boarding and day school. The Assistant Soccer Coach will be engaged across the whole community, serving a vital role in the classroom, admissions office, or in an administrative position, depending on the candidate's experience and interest. The Assistant Soccer Coach will be responsible for helping to recruit prospective student-athletes, supporting a competitive schedule, practice planning, and game management.

Responsibilities:

Support a preeminent soccer program that exemplifies the mission of The Phelps School, including a year-round training program with an emphasis on skill development, strength, and conditioning. Attend all practices and games. Assist in recruiting high-caliber players of character, both domestic and international. Assist with college placement of our student-athletes. The assistant coach may have the opportunity to serve on the residential life staff, with campus housing provided. Salary and residential life responsibilities are determined accordingly. Qualifications:

Coaching experience with advanced knowledge and understanding of technical and strategic aspects of the game. Specific experience coaching goalkeepers preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with athletes, coaching staff, and parents. Ability to teach, lead, and motivate players. Proven organizational and management skills. Desire and ability to cultivate strategic relationships with area athletic organizations Desire and ability to collaborate with our Admissions team to communicate with prospective families.
