Drexel University, Athletics Job Summary The Head Women's Tennis Coach will administer, organize and coach the varsity Women's Tennis team. Essential Functions Assist in teaching, coaching, training and motivating women student-athletes to perform at the highest level through organized team and individual sessions. Foster an environment within the women's Tennis program that supports the department mission of personal growth and integrity, diversity, leadership, sportsmanship and a commitment to athletic and academic excellence. Select and successfully recruit student-athletes that meet the needs and growth of the program, department and institution. Work effectively with administrators, staff and coaches within the department of athletics to operate effectively within the structure of the organization. Communicate with all constituents of the program including staff, faculty, students, parents, alumni and friends. Monitor academic progress of Student-athletes. Manage the program operations including officials, transportation, practices, preseason, videotaping, etc. of women's program. Ensure compliance with all University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Foster growth of the women's tennis through fundraising and outreach. Work to foster growth of the Drexel Tennis community. Required Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. ( Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.) Minimum of 2 of experience coaching at the collegiate level or the equivalent. Strong written, organization and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a student-athlete at the collegiate or professional level. Demonstrated ability to teach and instruct the skills and techniques of Tennis. An understanding of the role of competitive sports in a dynamic university setting. Proven ability to provide strong leadership in assisting in managing the complexities of a competitive team.
