Position Overview As a Travel Baseball Coach at Ascent Athlete, you are the face of our developmental philosophy on the field. You will be responsible for managing team practices, leading players through a competitive tournament schedule, and fostering a "growth-first" culture. This role is ideal for a coach who can balance the drive to win with the commitment to long-term player development, ensuring every athlete on the roster is improving week over week.

Key Responsibilities Team Management & Leadership:

Lead high-intensity team practices, focusing on fundamental execution, team defense, and situational awareness. Manage all in-game responsibilities, including lineup construction, pitching changes, and tactical decision-making. Serve as a primary mentor, teaching sportsmanship, resilience, and the "mental game" of baseball.

Player Evaluation:

Work with our facility Directors to track player progress using on-site data and in-game performance. Provide clear, constructive feedback to athletes and parents regarding developmental milestones. Participate in annual tryouts and player selection to build competitive, balanced rosters.

Communication & Logistics:

Maintain professional and consistent communication with parents regarding schedules, expectations, and player roles. Ensure all team equipment is maintained and represent the Ascent brand with professionalism at all tournament venues.

Qualifications Baseball Experience:

Significant experience playing or coaching at a competitive travel, high school, or collegiate level. Deep knowledge of game rules, situational tactics, and modern player development trends.

Coaching Skills:

Exceptional leadership and communication skills; ability to command a dugout and inspire young athletes. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle the "fast-paced" nature of tournament weekends.

Philosophy:

A strong belief in development over "trophy hunting"—you prioritize the long-term health and progress of the athlete. Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain a positive, professional demeanor with umpires and opposing teams.

Availability:
