Youth Basketball Coach

Duties Plan and execute dynamic basketball practices that focus on fundamental skills, teamwork, and fun. Lead youth basketball games, encouraging fair play, sportsmanship, and personal bests. Foster a safe, inclusive environment that promotes positive behavior management and respect among players. Incorporate teaching elements of physical education, including drills for agility, coordination, and endurance. Support the development of players' confidence through constructive feedback and encouragement. Collaborate with parents, guardians, and program coordinators to communicate progress and address any concerns. Integrate related activities such as cheerleading or basic martial arts techniques to enhance team spirit and coordination. Qualifications Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education is highly desirable. Background in basketball or related sports such as cheerleading or climbing is preferred. Experience with childcare or working with children in educational or recreational settings. Knowledge of behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct during activities. Certifications or experience in Lifeguard training, swimming, karate, judo, or martial arts are a plus. Ability to demonstrate leadership skills while maintaining a lively and motivating attitude.
