Head Softball Coach Dakota Wesleyan University Mitchell, SD Posted/Updated:
Today Job Description Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) invites applications for the position of Head Softball Coach. This is a twelve-month, fully benefited position that includes all aspects of leading and managing a nationally competitive program within the guidelines of the NAIA, GPAC and DWU. Successful candidates should display great integrity, embody a coaching philosophy grounded in player development, be committed to retaining and graduating their players, and have a demonstrated commitment to the mission of DWU and our values of learning, leadership, faith, and service. Duties include, but are not limited to: Plan and implement daily practices, training sessions, and team meetings Support all facets of program operations, including equipment management, travel coordination, and game preparation Participate in recruitment of prospective student-athletes through evaluations, communication, and campus visits Assist with administrative tasks, academic monitoring, and occasional social media content Help facilitate a team environment that promotes athletic, academic, and personal excellence Represent Dakota Wesleyan University in a professional manner at all times Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred Strict adherence to established NAIA, conference, and university rules and regulations Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously with consistent follow-through Proven coaching success required; collegiate coaching experience preferred Commitment to the mission of DWU and its values of learning, leadership, faith and service Ability to work weekends as typical in collegiate athletics Excellent written and oral communication skills Recruit quality student athletes Ability to work weekends as typical in collegiate athletics Strict adherence to established NAIA, conference, and university rules and regulations Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. For this position we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment-based visa at this time.
