Job Description
As a Swim Lesson Instructor at the
OAHE FAMILY
YMCA, you will play a crucial role in teaching individuals of all ages the essential skills of swimming and water safety. Your primary objective will be to create a safe and engaging learning environment that fosters confidence and enjoyment in the water. You will assess your students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their swimming abilities. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the overall mission of promoting health, wellness, and safety within our community through aquatic education.Minimum Qualifications:
Strong swimming skills and knowledge of various swimming techniques 16 years or olderPreferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching swim lessons Additional certifications in water safety or lifeguarding Background in education or child developmentResponsibilities:
Conduct swim lessons for individuals and groups of varying ages and skill levels. Implement lesson plans that align with YMCA standards and best practices. Monitor and assess the progress of students, providing feedback and encouragement. Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and maintaining a vigilant watch. Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding progress and any concerns.Skills:
Strong communication skills will be essential for effectively conveying instructions and providing feedback to students and their families. Your ability to assess individual progress will help you tailor your teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each participant. Additionally, your knowledge of safety protocols will ensure a secure environment for all swimmers.
