Currently with 21 NCAA Division II sports programs, Augustana Athletics is focused on building champions in the classroom,in competition and in the community, highlighted by three team national championships since 2016. Viking Athletics finished #7 nationally inthe Division II Learfield Director's Cup in 2021-22 and also won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) All Sports Award. Assistant Coach - Women's Acrobatics & Tumbling Augustana University invites application for the position ofAssistant Coach - Women's Acrobatics & Tumbling Coach. This position supports all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division II women'sacrobatics & tumbling program, along with assisting the Head Coach with student-athlete development, practice planning, recruiting, academicsupport, compliance, and program operations while promoting the mission and values of the institution and the department of athletics. Thisposition will also aid in fostering a positive team culture that emphasizes academic success, athletic excellence, and personal growth. Duties include, but are not limitedto: Coaching and Competitive Success Assist in planning and conducting dailypractices, training sessions, and competition preparation. Provide technical instruction in acrobatics, tumbling, pyramids,tosses, and team event execution. Support strength and conditioning initiatives in collaboration with athletic performancestaff. Assist with choreography, routine development, and skill progression. Promote student-athlete safety and properrisk management procedures. Monitor student-athlete academic progress, retention, and personal development. Serve as apositive role model and mentor for student-athletes. Recruiting and Enrollment Management Identify and recruit qualified student-athletes who align with institutional and DII values Manage all phases of therecruiting process in compliance with NCAA Division II regulations. Build recruitment pipelines with high school, club teams,gymnastics, and cheer programs. Contribute to enrollment goals and retention strategies. Support academic achievementand monitor progress toward degree completion. Mentor student-athletes in leadership, personal growth, and career readiness. Promote balance between athletics, academics, and campus life. Collaborate with academic support services to ensureeligibility. Program Administration, Fundraising, and Community Engagement Assistwith travel arrangements, equipment management, and meet-day operations. Coordinate video analysis, scouting reports, and opponentpreparation. Help organize camps, clinics, and community engagement initiatives. Support fundraising and alumnirelations efforts as assigned. Assist with social media and promotional activities to enhance program visibility. Schedule competitions and coordinate with conference/league officials. Ensure strict adherence to NCAA Division II, NCATA,conference, and institutional rules. Complete required compliance education and reporting. Assist with management andexecution of fundraising activities to assist with the overall program budget (i.e., camps/clinics, donor events/engagement, fundraisingactivities). Represent the program at campus, community, conference and national events. Duties also include otherduties as assigned. Required Qualifications:
Coaching experience in Women's Acrobatics &Tumbling Coach or one of the disciplines of gymnastics (i.e., acrobatic, trampoline, power tumbling) or cheerleading (competitive orsideline) A Bachelor's Degree required. Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degreepreferred. Prior collegiate coaching experience in Women's Acrobatics and Tumbling. Recruiting experience at thecollegiate level. Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain). Ability to successfully completethe NCAA Annual Coaches Certification Requirement. Experience in recruiting academically sound, qualified student athletes. Interacting with students, faculty and leadership with different backgrounds and points of view and a deep appreciation of and respectfor academic values and culture must be a top value of the candidate.
