Job Description

Mount Marty University, a proud member of the NAIA and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Soccer Assistant Coach. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of excellence, mentorship, and spiritual growth within our athletic program. The successful candidate will support the Head Coach in all facets of program management, with a heavy emphasis on recruiting high-character student-athletes and ensuring the operational success of the team. Duties and Responsibilities Represent the university at appropriate community and sporting events with professionalism and integrity. Execute core assignments issued by the Head Coach, including:
Recruiting:
Identify and evaluate student-athletes who align with the academic and spiritual mission of the university.
Scouting & Analysis:
Prepare scouting reports and update team/individual statistics.
On-Field Coaching:
Assist with practice preparation, technical training, and tactical execution.
Logistics:
Coordinate transportation arrangements and schedule games/practices. Serve as a mentor to students, assisting with the integration of academic, spiritual, and social dimensions of the university. Maintain a positive coach-player relationship while building rapport with faculty, staff, and the public. Inform the Head Coach of any student-related issues, including academic progress or facility/equipment needs. Ensure full compliance with NAIA and GPAC rules and regulations. Provide adequate supervision for athletes during travel and university-sanctioned events. Maintain high confidentiality regarding salary, budget, and grant information. Drive a 15-passenger van for team functions (requires completion of university driving training and securing a DOT medcard). Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by the Head Men's Soccer Coach and Athletic Director.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree required
Experience:
Significant experience in coaching and playing soccer at a competitive collegiate or club level
Certification:
Current Certified CPR Training (or willingness to obtain)
Mission Fit:
Demonstrated commitment to the Catholic, Benedictine mission of
Mount Marty University Licensing:
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record meeting university insurance standards
Compliance:
