Job Description

Assistant Coach Cross Country Track & Field We are now accepting applications for a qualified Assistant Coach Cross Country Track & Field at Belmont University. Employment Type Staff Internal Job Category Exempt (Staff) Full-Time Department Coaching Staff Hours 37.5
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, assists in coaching duties for the University's NCAA Division 1 Women's Cross Country and Track & Field programs. Assists the Director of Cross Country/Track & Field with all aspects of the program, including recruitment of athletes, training for competition, and multiple administrative duties to support overall program management. Assists Director of Track & Field/Cross Country in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition. Conducts recruitment of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules through scouting, attending athletic events/meets, and home visits. Oversees and coordinates one or more specified areas of a sporting discipline and/or components of a team, as appropriate to the sport being coached. Assists in the overall coordination of the program, including but not limited to: planning official/unofficial visits; coordinating team travel; managing team apparel orders; overseeing social media outlets; organizing special team events; coordinating team communication regarding practices, meetings, special events, etc. Represents the sports program to various institutional entities and externally to media, government agencies, students, parents, and the general public. Complies with all NCAA, Conference, University, and Department of Athletics policies. The above statements describe the job's essential responsibilities and requirements. Required Qualifications :

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, primarily Word and Excel. Knowledge of NCAA recruiting rules. Understanding of academic rigors of a student-athlete and ability to mentor students as they work toward graduation. Required Education Bachelors Degree in a related discipline. Required Experience 1-3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in women's distance/middle distance events. The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University. Belmont University participates in E-Verify.
