Job Description
Head Coach Mid State Soccer Academy Position Overview Mid State Soccer Academy is seeking passionate, reliable, and development-focused coaches to lead teams within our competitive soccer program. The Head Coach plays a key role in helping players grow technically, tactically, mentally, and personally while creating a positive and challenging team environment aligned with club standards and philosophy. This position is ideal for coaches who value long-term player development, strong communication, and building meaningful relationships with players and families. Key Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging training sessions aligned with club methodology and standards Develop players technically, tactically, physically, and mentally Lead all games, training sessions, and team activities Build and maintain a positive, competitive, and development-focused team culture Manage team communication, roster readiness, and player expectations Provide input during tryouts, evaluations, and player placement discussions Reinforce and communicate club philosophy to players and families Parent Communication Expectations Set clear expectations at the start of the season regarding development goals, playing style, and team standards Communicate player development feedback at appropriate intervals throughout the season Address parent questions professionally and constructively Maintain a positive, consistent, and development-focused tone in all communication Coordinate logistical and scheduling matters with the Team Manager and club leadership Collaboration Responsibilities Collaborate with the Director of Coaching on player development and training standards Work closely with the Director of Operations on scheduling, communication, and logistics Participate in club meetings, coaching development opportunities, and seasonal planning Qualifications Previous coaching experience preferred Strong communication and leadership skills Passion for player development and mentorship Ability to create a positive and organized learning environment US Soccer coaching licenses preferred, but not required Background check and SafeSport certification required prior to coaching Reports To Director of Coaching About Mid State Soccer Academy Mid State Soccer Academy is a competitive youth soccer club focused on long-term player development, strong community relationships, and creating positive environments where players can grow both on and off the field.
