PRIMARY PURPOSE
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth; enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and ability to excel in sport assigned; contribute to the education program as a whole and to the growth of students involved in athletics.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject/level assigned.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of assigned curriculum; knowledge of instructional methods Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior Lesson planning skills Lesson presentation skills Conflict resolution skills Classroom management skills Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Technology skills as related to classroom presentation and record keeping Strong knowledge of Internet and web-related technology Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms Ability to support students with computer set-up, navigation, and technology issues Work Conditions
Tools/Equipment Used:
Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals, video/instructional equipment

Frequent standing and walking; bending/stooping and reaching fully above head, pushing, pulling, and twisting

Minimum Experience:
Must meet student teacher requirements Experience as a coach or participant in sport assigned
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Fulfill all assigned coaching responsibilities at the campus. Provide input on athletic schedules to the Athletic Services Department. Help coordinate the selection of equipment and supplies for the sports program with the Athletic Director. Responsible to design the philosophy and methods of instruction in the teaching of the sport assigned. Assume responsibility for the athletic property used in the programs supervised by the Athletic Director. Visit the middle schools, conduct clinics, and orientate middle school cluster coaches with the philosophy of the head coach in the respective sports program. Understand and adhere to all UIL and local AISD athletic policies. Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the District. Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request of the principal. Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, Board policies, and administrative regulations. Establish control in the classroom and administer discipline and punishment in accordance with Board policies and administrative regulations. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis. Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain accurate, complete records as required by TEA, school law, District policy, and administrative regulations. Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service programs. Make provision for being available to students and parents for educational and athletic-related purposes. Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents. Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, and parents. Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Perform such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned. Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers including the Texas Educator Code of Ethics.
