This position will be employed directly by Hill Country Christian School. Great coaches teach the game. Exceptional coaches shape lives. As a coach, you'll do more than prepare athletes for competition. You'll mentor students, partner with families, and help young men and women discover what it means to pursue excellence while honoring Christ. About the Role As our Head Coach - Varsity Tennis, you'll help develop student-athletes who compete with excellence while growing as leaders, teammates, and followers of Christ. In this role, you will serve as the chief architect and leader of the varsity tennis program. You will be responsible for designing and implementing off-season programming, in-season practice plans, and match-day strategies to optimize athlete performance. Beyond the physical training, you will lead the spiritual formation of your team through devotions, intentional culture-building, and integrating a biblical worldview into the sport. From guiding college recruiting efforts to managing your assistant coaching staff and ensuring full TAPPS compliance, you will build a disciplined, values-driven program. You'll Thrive Here If You... View coaching as an opportunity to invest in students beyond the court Build relationships that extend beyond practices and competitions Know how to create culture, not just run drills Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and fellow coaches Lead with humility, integrity, and accountability Pursue excellence while keeping the bigger picture in view What We're Looking For A professing Christian who actively attends a like-minded church and affirms our Statement of Faith A minimum of 5 years of similar or related coaching experience Participation in high school sports (college sports participation is highly preferred) A masterful understanding of tennis training models, physical development, and mental skills preparation Proven experience leading spiritual formation programs and integrating a biblical worldview into athletics Strong conflict resolution and communication skills to effectively engage administrators, parents, and students The ability to positively represent Hill Country Christian School on and off campus The physical stamina required for the coaching profession, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel with the team for away contests Preferred Qualifications Certification in the content/sport area Experience in coaching multiple sports and managing athletic events, schedules, and operations CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Teaching certification or interest in a dual teacher-coach role Why Hill Country Athletics?
