AAU Boys Basketball Coach

Job description At Hustle & Heart, we offer year-round basketball training and AAU Teams. The vision of our organization is to provide basketball coaching to any student-athlete looking to improve their game in a safe, fun, highly-energetic, and developmental atmosphere! In this specific position, you would primarily be tasked with coaching a youth boys' AAU basketball team, in an energetic, positive, and inspiring way! Check out our Instagram to see how we run our teams! @HustleHeartBasketball Time Commitment - We run our AAU teams year-round, so the commitment would be about (2) 1 1/2 to 2-hour practices per week and then approximately (25) weekend tournaments throughout the year. We would like each coach applying to be ready to take on coaching at least (1) team throughout the year. There is also a possibility of coaching other training groups within our program, if you're looking to coach more! The primary emphasis of our basketball program is on skill development and ensuring that each student-athlete is learning the game of basketball in a positive, safe, fun, and developmentally-progressive atmosphere. Basically, if you love basketball and love working with kids - this is the job for you!

Duties & Responsibilities:

Must be coachable and willing to learn! We do things a certain way at Hustle & Heart. So, please be prepared to be hand-trained by the owner in the Hustle & Heart way! Serve as a positive role model who encourages the student-athletes to work together as a team and promote equal opportunities for all student-athletes. Coach teams during their games. Again, primary emphasis is placed on teaching the game of basketball in a positive, but still competitive and developmentally-progressive way. May be asked to assist in the setup and breakdown of gym equipment before and after games. Adhere to the rules of Hustle & Heart and encourage fair play with each team that is coached. Must have reliable transportation. Must be able/willing to show up to all scheduled practices/games on time. Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds of equipment. Must be able to frequently stand/walk for long periods of time.

Experience:

Coached Youth Basketball (Required) Played High School Basketball (Preferred) Worked with Youth (Preferred)

Requirements:

Must be Background Checked (Prior to employment) Must be able to travel to Katy, TX on a regular basis
