$539.33 Placement within the salary range is determined based on experience, qualifications, and district compensation guidelines. Primary Purpose Direct, manage, and lead the district's athletic program area and serve as head coach in the assigned varsity sport. Provide leadership, supervision, and strategic direction to ensure high-quality athletic programs that promote student development, competitive excellence, and alignment with district goals. Qualifications Education/Certification Bachelor's degree Master's degree in Educational Leadership or related field, preferred Valid Texas teaching certificate Current AED certificate CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, preferred Participate in the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association (THSADA) and obtain Texas Athletic Administrators Certification within the first two years of employment. Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of athletic program management and coaching methodologies Knowledge of UIL, state, and local policies governing athletics Ability to manage budgets, personnel, facilities, and operations Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching and coaching experience Demonstrated leadership experience in a volleyball program or girls athletic program Experience supervising and evaluating staff preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties A. Program Leadership Establish, communicate, and teach aligned, clear expectations for coaches and student-athletes regarding program standards, conduct, accountability, culture, leadership, and daily operations. Collaborate with the other athletic director and full coaching staff to create a documented common vision and set of expectations for the students, coaches, and program. Direct and manage all aspects of the assigned athletic program area. Establish and communicate a vision aligned with district goals. Promote student development, sportsmanship, competitive excellence, and positive representation of the district. Oversee scheduling, competitions, practices, and operations for assigned programs. Ensure student eligibility and compliance with UIL, district, and state requirements. B. Head Volleyball Coach Responsibilities Lead the assigned varsity head coaching program, including staffing, offseason development, and feeder program alignment. Develop and implement systems for player development and competitive preparation. Supervise sport-specific staff and ensure alignment of philosophy and expectations from junior high through high school. C. Administrative Oversight of Assigned Programs Certain athletic programs may include both boys and girls student-athletes or may function operationally as a single district athletic program. In those cases, one Athletic Director shall be designated as the primary supervising administrator for the program. That administrator shall retain responsibility for supervision, evaluation, budgeting, scheduling, compliance, and operational oversight of the entire program unless otherwise reassigned by the Superintendent. Program assignments are based on district organizational structure and operational effectiveness and are not required to align solely by student gender participation. Assigned sports/programs include Volleyball, Softball, Girls Basketball, Girls Soccer, Cross Country, Golf, Swimming, assigned Girls Junior High Athletic Programs, and Athletic Trainers. Provide administrative oversight for assigned sports and junior high programs. Conduct formal athletic evaluations of the head coach for each sport supervised. Evaluations must be completed no later than two business weeks after the completion of each season. Oversee supervision, evaluation, scheduling, budgets, equipment, parent concerns, compliance, student eligibility, postseason coordination, and program accountability. Collaborate with the Boys Athletic Director regarding any shared or unified athletic programs. D. Personnel Management Provide administrative oversight for Athletic Trainers. Recruit, recommend for hire, supervise, and evaluate assigned athletic staff. Recommend assignments, retention, professional development, improvement plans, disciplinary action, and dismissal when appropriate. E. Budget, Equipment, and Facilities Maintain an equitable and consistent replacement cycle for uniforms for all supervised sports in alignment with the other Athletic Director. Adhere to all procedures, processes, timelines, internal controls, and expectations established by the Business and Finance Department in the administration of athletic budgets, purchasing, and financial operations. Develop and manage budgets for assigned programs. Communicate budget balances to Head Coaches on a monthly basis. Oversee purchasing, inventory, maintenance, storage, replacement, and disposal of equipment and supplies. Oversee facilities primarily assigned to the program area and collaborate on shared spaces. F. Student Management and Development Supervise and ensure appropriate planning, expectations, and oversight for organized off-campus athletic activities, including activities such as team meals, and reinforce aligned expectations for coaches and student-athletes. Implement district student management policies and communicate expectations related to athletics. Support academic success, recruitment opportunities, and student development. G. District Leadership Serve as a member of the district leadership team. Supervise Girls Summer Sports Camps and Girls Summer Strength and Conditioning Programs. Supervise athletic events outside of head coaching season in coordination with the High School Administration, independent of specific sport supervision. Coordinate district athletic operations, event management, logistics, and operational systems. H. Shared Department Support Collaborate with the other Athletic Director in directing and utilizing the District Clerk - Athletics. Assist in establishing priorities, workflow expectations, and administrative systems. Provide input to the Superintendent regarding the District Clerk - Athletics' performance, responsiveness, organization, communication, and effectiveness. I. Community Relations Adhere to all branding, messaging, and communication guidelines established by the Communications and Public Relations Department for all athletic programs, materials, and public representations. Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, booster organizations, and community members. Promote and represent LVISD athletics in a positive and professional manner. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise, evaluate, and recommend hiring of assigned athletic staff and assigned support personnel. The District Clerk - Athletics is formally evaluated by the Superintendent with input from both Athletic Directors. Shared Leadership Expectations Work collaboratively with the other Athletic Director to ensure a unified athletic program, maintain consistent expectations across programs, coordinate shared facilities, and support districtwide athletic improvement. Assignment Flexibility Specific program oversight assignments may be adjusted by the Superintendent based on district needs, staffing, and organizational effectiveness. Conflict Resolution In matters involving shared responsibilities, overlapping operations, or program conflicts, the Superintendent serves as the final decision-making authority.Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
