Cheer Coach IDEA Public Schools - 2.9 Mission, TX Job Details Part-time $14 an hour 14 hours ago Qualifications Program development Swimming Teaching physical education Cheerleading Teaching Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Coach to inspire and develop athletes across various sports and physical activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and students, possess strong teaching skills, and demonstrate leadership in a dynamic environment. This role involves guiding participants through skill development, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive attitude toward physical activity. The Coach will play a vital role in creating an engaging and safe environment for all participants, whether in a sports club, health facility, or community program. Duties Plan and deliver coaching sessions for sports such as basketball, cheerleading, climbing, judo, karate, swimming, and martial arts. Teach physical education fundamentals and develop tailored training programs for different age groups and skill levels. Supervise and ensure the safety of participants during activities, including lifeguarding if applicable. Manage behavior and promote positive conduct among students or athletes to foster a respectful team environment. Provide instruction on technique, rules, and strategies relevant to each sport or activity. Support participants in building confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship through engaging coaching methods. Maintain equipment and ensure the cleanliness of facilities such as gyms or health clubs. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, or program coordinators regarding progress and participation. Qualifications Prior experience in sports coaching, teaching physical education, or working with children in recreational settings. Lifeguard experience is preferred if working around pools or aquatic environments. Knowledge of various sports including basketball, cheerleading, climbing, judo, karate, swimming, or martial arts is highly desirable. Strong background in behavior management and creating positive learning environments for students of all ages. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage participants. Certification in first aid or CPR is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain relevant certifications is preferred. Passion for fitness, sportsmanship, and helping others achieve their physical potential.
