Job Description

Dominion Christian School seeks a new head coach for our Middle School Girls' Volleyball program and a new head coach for our JV/Varsity Women's Volleyball Program. The desired candidate must importantly demonstrate personal faith in Jesus Christ and fully agree with the school's statement of faith (http://www.dominionschool.com/about-us/statement-of-beliefs) and core values. The candidate must also be an active member of a local Christian Church.
  • Be passionate about mentoring young people, competitive athletics, and modeling good character.
  • Reflect on the goal of honoring Christ in every class, game, or activity.
  • Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration.
  • Have at least 2 years of experience coaching volleyball.
  • Be a visionary and display strong leadership and direction for the volleyball program.
  • Be skilled to instruct and encourage team members to improve their level of play positively and constructively.
  • Ensure that proper care is taken of the athletic facilities and athletic equipment.
  • Communicate well with the Athletic Director, parents, players, and school administration and faculty when needed.
  • Submit to a background check.
  • Have a reliable means of transportation and have a suitable driving record.
Dominion Christian School is recognized by the Virginia High School League (VHSL) and is a member of the Northern Virginia Independent Athletic Conference (NVIAC). The volleyball season officially runs from Mid-August to the end of October. Practices are on the school campus. The core practice days for MS are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-5:15 p.m. The core practice days for JV/Varsity are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Another practice can be scheduled during the week at the coach's discretion. Games are on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Home games are on the school campus. Away games are at various locations in Northern Virginia, starting between 4 and 6 pm. Candidates must be available consistently to coach at these times.
