LocationHill City Sports Center, 118 Davis Cup Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502, United States Job CategoryHill City Sports Center IndustrySummer Sports Camps, Youth Sports, Day Camps Employee TypePT Non-Exempt Description Hill City Sports Center is seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and dependable Sports Camp Coaches to lead and support youth sports camps and programs. Coaches will help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment where athletes can develop skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about sports, mentoring youth, and creating positive experiences for campers of all skill levels. Essentials Duties and Responsibilities Lead and supervise youth sports camps, clinics, and training sessions Teach and demonstrate sport-specific skills, drills, and fundamentals Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive environment for all participants Ensure camper safety and maintain appropriate supervision at all times Assist with camp setup, cleanup, and equipment organization Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members Support daily camp schedules, activities, and transitions Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and athlete development Qualifications Passion for working with children and youth athletes Strong leadership and communication skills Positive attitude and ability to motivate participants Knowledge of sports fundamentals and gameplay Previous coaching, playing, teaching, or camp experience preferred Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment Reliable transportation and punctual attendance Preferred Experience Background in athletics, coaching, education, recreation, or youth development CPR/First Aid certification is a plus Experience working with children of various age groups Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move throughout shifts Ability to work in indoor athletic environments Ability to lift and move light sports equipment when needed Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
