JOB SUMMARY
The Girl's Flag Football Coach leads and manages all aspects of the MPCS girl's flag football program, including player development, practice planning, recruitment, mentorship, and program operations. The role also supports student-athlete academic success and collaborates with the athletic department to advance school and program goals.
REQUISITE EDUCATION AND SKILLS
MPCS staff members are preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of girls flag football, including rules, strategies, skill development, and program management. Previous coaching experience in football or a related sport is preferred. Strong ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, and staff while promoting teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
(including but not limited to the following) Lead and oversee all aspects of the Girl's Flag Football program, including organization, planning, and program development. Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain student-athletes while building a competitive and sustainable team culture. Plan and conduct practices, training sessions, and competitions focused on skill development and performance growth. Promote the program through camps, clinics, community outreach, and recruiting initiatives. Support and monitor student-athlete academic progress, eligibility, and accountability. Collaborate with school staff and support services to encourage student success and graduation. Serve as a positive mentor who models leadership, integrity, accountability, and sportsmanship. Perform other duties as assigned by Athletic Director or School Principal.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position operates in a professional school environment that includes classrooms, gymnasiums, cafeterias, auditoriums, and outdoor learning or recreational areas. The work environment involves noise levels that may range from low to moderate and requires frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the school day. Occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching may also be required. Periods of sitting are common while preparing lessons, grading assignments, or completing administrative tasks. The position may require lifting or moving instructional materials, classroom supplies, or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally up to 25 pounds or more. Regular use of computers, interactive whiteboards, projectors, printers, and other instructional technologies is required to support teaching and learning. Clear verbal communication, active listening, and visual attentiveness are essential for delivering instruction and ensuring student safety. The role involves daily interaction with students and regular collaboration with colleagues, administrators, and families. Occasional travel between school sites or participation in supervised trips to other locations may also be required. Coaches must be able to manage multiple responsibilities and adapt to the demands of a dynamic, fast-paced educational environment.
