Group Fitness, Strength Training, Personal Training About the Opportunity Body Fit Training Tysons is seeking a Group Fitness Head Coach - Strength & Lifting Specialist to lead coaching operations, elevate team performance, and deliver a high-level member experience. This is not just a coaching role. This is an opportunity to build, lead, and shape the standard of coaching inside a high-performance studio. that keeps members coming back. This role requires someone who can consistently deliver high-energy, high-quality coaching while maintaining a strong focus on technique, progression , and safety. You have a strong foundation in strength training and lifting mechanics, and you know how to coach with clarity, correct with confidence, and help members build real strength safely and effectively.The Role:
Head Coach This is a full-time leadership position responsible for coaching excellence, team development, and overall studio performance. The Head Coach will serve as the most visible and consistent coach on the floor, leading by example in both technical coaching and professional presence. This role works closely with the General Manager and ownership team to align on coaching standards, member experience, retention strategies, and studio growth initiatives. Baseline Requirements Minimum 2+ years of boutique or structured group fitness coaching experience (non-negotiable), preferably in structured training environments such as Orangetheory, Burn Boot Camp, Barry's, or F45. Strong understanding of strength training principles, hypertrophy, and progressive overload Demonstrated ability to teach proper lifting technique across varying fitness levels Proven ability to manage, coach, and lead group training sessions effectively Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM, or equivalent) CPR/AED Certified Key Responsibilities Coaching & Performance Coach 25-30 group fitness classes per week, with remaining hours dedicated to leadership, development, and administrative responsibilities (40-hour role). Deliver high-quality, technically sound coaching focused on strength, hypertrophy, and functional training Execute structured programming with consistency and attention to detail Provide appropriate modifications, regressions, and progressions Maintain a high-energy, engaging training environment Set the tone for energy in every class and ensure each session is engaging, challenging, and purposeful Coaching Standards & Team Development Establish and uphold elite coaching standards Conduct regular coach evaluations, feedback sessions, and development planning Own and execute the onboarding process for new coaches, ensuring alignment with BFT standards Mentor and develop coaching staff to improve consistency and performance Lead team weekly meetings and ongoing coach education Oversee coaching schedules and coverage Member Experience & Retention Ensure a consistent, high-quality member experience across all classes Build relationships with members to support engagement and retention Identify and proactively support at-risk members Lead and execute studio Challenges and engagement initiatives Leadership, Culture & Growth Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and performance Proactively recruit and build relationships with talent, including at other studios, to maintain a strong bench of coaches for coverage and future growth Collaborate with the General Manager and ownership team on studio initiatives Develop and implement quarterly action plans to improve retention and performance Establish and maintain partnerships with local health focused food and beverage partners, leveraging grassroots events and community activations to drive engagement, brand awareness, and leads. Leverage social media to engage the BFT community, increase class attendance, and strengthen brand presence in the Mclean and nearby areas. Operations & Studio Standards Maintain a clean, safe, and professional training environment Ensure all equipment and studio spaces meet operational standards Preferred Experience Previous Head Coach or leadership experience within a fitness or group training environment Experience with or knowledge of HYROX training and movement standards Core Competencies Strong leadership and communication skills High level of accountability and professionalism Ability to manage both people and performance Strong attention to detail in coaching execution Commitment to continuous improvement and developmentPay:
