Nov 30, 2026 Job Description Rice Memorial High School seeks an enthusiastic, experienced, and student-centered individual to serve as Head Coach for our Girls Varsity Basketball program. The Head Coach is responsible for leading all aspects of the program while promoting academic excellence, character development, sportsmanship, and competitive success consistent with the mission and values of the school.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the Girls Varsity Basketball program.
  • Develop and implement practice plans that emphasize skill development, teamwork, conditioning, and player growth.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
  • Promote good sportsmanship, leadership, and personal responsibility among student-athletes.
  • Supervise assistant coaches and coordinate coaching responsibilities throughout the program.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school administrators, and athletic department staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all school, league, and state athletic association rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate team schedules, transportation needs, equipment inventory, and game-day operations in collaboration with the Athletic Department.
  • Support the development of the basketball program at all levels and assist with offseason activities, camps, and player development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress and encourage academic achievement.
  • Attend coaches' meetings, professional development opportunities, and other athletic department functions as required.
