$17.13 hour depending on experience and qualifications The PC, premier health and sports campus of the northwest, has an immediate need for a Part Time Swim Instructor to join our team for the summer!
MUST HAVE OPEN AVAILABILITY DURING SUMMER.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As part of our StarFish Swim School, we teach water safety and swimming skills. Instruct students in various levels based on age, comfort level, and ability using toys, songs, games and drills to build a lifelong love of swimming and water safety. Adjust and apply a variety of teaching styles and methods to best meet the needs of each student. Regularly evaluate students skills and abilities and challenge them to work on progressively harder skills. Develop and maintain relationships through professional, ongoing communication with parents and caregivers with regards to goals, expectations, student progress and "homework" assignments for skills practice; answering any questions and/or concerns that may arise. Successful candidates will be able to commit to teaching a set mini session lesson durin the summer M-Th 4-8pm, 10-15 hours per week, weekdays and/or weekends, specifically Saturday mornings. Required Qualifications:
Ability to demonstrate all swimming skills to be taught, including, but not limited to: going underwater, rhythmic breathing, back floats, arm patterns, kicks, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, flip turns, jumps and dives. Excellent communication and active listening skills with the ability to work with and interact with all kinds of people of all ages. Ability to physically hold up and support students to help them with various skills. Ability to move equipment (including chairs and docks in and out of the water), lifting up to 50 lbs. intermittently.
