Quincy Athletics is a member of the Central Washington Athletic Conference (2A). The Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing a comprehensive interscholastic athletic program that promotes skill development, competitive excellence, academic accountability, character development, and sportsmanship. The Head Coach provides structured instruction in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training appropriate to the sport while fostering a positive team culture and representing Quincy High School with professionalism and integrity.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Demonstrates knowledge of all athletic policies and codes approved by the Quincy School District regarding Administrative, Student, Equipment, Facilities, and Program duties. Demonstrates knowledge of the WIAA Handbook, including eligibility standards, coaching certifications, and sport-specific regulations. Plans, organizes, and conducts safe and effective practices appropriate to the age and skill level of student-athletes. Provides instruction in sport-specific skills, team strategies, conditioning, and competition preparation. Supervises student-athletes before, during, and after practices, contests, and team travel. Promotes sportsmanship, leadership development, accountability, and positive team culture. Monitors student-athlete academic progress and supports district eligibility standards. Supervises assistant coaches and ensures alignment with district expectations, program philosophy, and safety standards. Maintains discipline consistent with district policy and works with the Athletic Director to promote morale and cooperation within the athletic department and school community. Ensures compliance with concussion protocols, injury reporting procedures, and return-to-play guidelines. Maintains accurate inventory of equipment and assists with responsible management of program budgets. Utilizes district-approved communication platforms to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community. Strives to improve professional skills by attending clinics, professional development opportunities, and required certification trainings. Ensures compliance with Title IX, equity standards, and district non-discrimination policies. Performs related tasks consistent with the scope and responsibility of the position.QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Must meet WIAA age requirements applicable to the position (21 years of age for Head Coach; 19 years of age for Assistant Coach). Demonstrated knowledge of the sport and ability to teach fundamental and advanced skills appropriate to the level of competition. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. Valid current First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain prior to season start). Completion of required WIAA coaching education and concussion training prior to season start. Ability to supervise assistant coaches and volunteers effectively. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies, district policies, and legal requirements. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong human relations and interpersonal skills. Ability to meet punctuality and attendance expectations. Bilingual preferred.UNION AFFILIATION
