Job Summary Join our dynamic team as the Head Cheer Coach at Roosevelt High School in Seattle, WA! This exciting leadership role is perfect for passionate sports enthusiasts who thrive on inspiring students, fostering teamwork, and elevating school spirit through cheerleading. As the Head Cheer Coach, you will oversee all aspects of the cheerleading program, develop innovative routines, and cultivate a positive, inclusive environment that encourages growth and excellence. Your energetic leadership will motivate students to perform their best both on and off the field, creating memorable experiences and building lifelong skills. Duties Lead the recruitment, training, and development of cheerleading team members, ensuring they meet skill and safety standards Design and choreograph engaging routines that showcase athleticism, creativity, and school spirit Plan and coordinate practices, competitions, pep rallies, and community events to maximize team visibility and enthusiasm Foster a positive team environment through effective behavior management and mentorship Collaborate with school administrators, physical education teachers, and other coaches to align program goals with school policies Monitor safety protocols during all cheerleading activities, including stunts, jumps, and routines Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and leadership among students while encouraging personal growth Requirements Proven experience in cheerleading coaching or related sports coaching roles with a focus on youth development Background in physical education teaching or sports instruction preferred Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunt safety, choreography, and performance skills Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds; strong behavior management skills essential Additional skills in stunt training and/or tumbling are a plus for stunt coordination and discipline training Passion for mentoring young people and fostering a positive team culture Why you'll love it here We are dedicated to empowering our staff to make a meaningful impact on students' lives.
