Head Coach, Boys Water Polo Program (Part-Time) Rain City Water Polo Seattle, WA Job Details Part-time $32 - $35 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications School experience Program design Lifeguard Training Sports team experience Team development Leading team collaboration initiatives Lifeguard Certification Leadership Team motivation (leadership skill) Team building Full Job Description Position Overview Rain City Water Polo is a large Non-profit water polo program in Washington State offering Girl and Boy programs starting with Splashball and running though the 18U age group. Rain City offers an established pathway for competition, with athletes competing at major events such as Junior Olympics, Futures League participation (16U & 18U Boys), Kap7, and Dare to Dream tournaments. With access to multiple high-quality pool locations across Seattle and Bellevue, this role provides a unique opportunity to lead and shape a growing Boys Program within a supportive, passionate, and competitive club environment. Rain City Water Polo is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Coach to lead our Boys Program (typically 16U-18U athletes). This part-time role is ideal for a coach with a strong background in high-level play and/or coaching who is passionate about developing athletes both in and out of the pool. We are looking for a leader who aligns with Rain City's culture and vision, and who can build a positive, disciplined, and high-performance team environment while representing the club with professionalism and integrity. Ideal candidates value athlete development, accountability, and creating a positive, high-expectation team culture. Time Commitment (Estimated)  3-5 weekday evening practices  Weekend tournaments (seasonal)  Occasional travel (primarily West Coast)  Attend monthly coaching team meeting Key Responsibilities  Lead and manage team practices and game-day coaching  Take ownership of the performance and development of the team  Partner with the coaching team on practice design, systems implementation, and game strategy  Develop training plans focused on skill development, conditioning, and tactical execution  Create a positive, challenging, and growth-oriented environment for athletes  Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and club leadership  Collaborate with other Rain City coaches to foster continued program growth and alignment  Travel with teams for weekend tournaments and competitions  Ensure compliance with all USA Water Polo rules, events, and standards  Assist with player evaluation and roster development  Support the overall growth and reputation of Rain City Water Polo Qualifications & Requirements  Demonstrated success as a coach and/or high-level player, with strong knowledge of USA Water Polo systems and competition structure  Commitment to Rain City's culture and long-term vision  Ability to foster a hardworking, team-first environment  Excellent communication and leadership skills  Availability to work evenings and weekends (travel required)  Ability to coach across multiple locations (North Seattle, Mercer Island, Bellevue area)  Must meet (or be able to obtain prior to start) all USA Water Polo coaching requirements  Lifeguard Certification required (or ability to obtain prior to start)  Must be authorized to work in the United States Preferred (Not Required)  Prior experience leading club or high school water polo programs  Experience developing athletes for higher levels of competition  Strong organizational and program-building skills Compensation $32 per hour, based on experience and qualifications How to Apply To apply, please submit your resume and a brief summary of your coaching and/or playing experience to .
