Job Description
Job Summary:
The Head Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading the high school volleyball program at Soap Lake. This includes organizing practices, coaching games, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and supporting the academic and personal growth of student-athletes.Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct all team practices, matches, and conditioning sessions. Teach fundamental and advanced volleyball skills. Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and events. Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive team environment. Attend all parent meeting arranged by the district, pre-season, award ceremonies Ensure players meet academic and athletic eligibility requirements. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff. Run a kids camp to build excitement in your program. Maintain equipment and coordinate with the athletic department Monitors equipment rooms and coaches offices Examines locker rooms before and after practices and games, checking on general cleanliness of the facility Responsible for the set up and tear down of game day equipment and facilities Instills in each player a respect for equipment and school property, its care and proper use Follow all district, league, and WIAA rules and expectations. Assist the athletic director in scheduling, providing transportation and requirements for regular season, tournaments or special sport events. Fundraising- Concessions, Gate, Scoreboard & others Through knowledge of all athletic policies approved by the Soap Lake School Board and is responsible for their implementation by the entire staff of the sports programQualifications:
Previous coaching or volleyball playing experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to monitor student athlete's grades and conduct Must meet WIAA and district coaching requirements (including First Aid/CPR, concussion training, etc.). Must pass a background check and be approved by the district.
