Head JV Girls Basketball coach 2026-2027 School Year Reports to:

Martin Luther High School is a 9 - 12th grade school system with approximately 680 students and growing. Martin Luther is a faith community in the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod whose mission is sharing Jesus, shaping lives, and developing leaders. We ensure exceptional experiences in four pillars of focus: Spiritual Growth, Academics, Athletics, and the Arts. Our core values are Biblical Truth, Relationships, Communication, Growth, and Love. We are supported by a strong partnership with the students, parents, staff, alumni, board, foundation, local parishes, of the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee.
Job Summary:
Martin Luther is currently looking for a Head JV girls basketball coach for the 2026-2027 winter season.
Responsibilities for the position include:
Display loyalty to the Head Coach and program. Supervise athletes and team assigned to them. Assist Head Coach for any special needs, i.e., awards night, parent meetings, etc. Make suggestions and recommendations that will help the program. Display sportsmanship towards opponents, officials, parents and team. Follow rules and regulations in Coaches' Handbook. Assist and/or plan and conduct daily practices for assigned team. Attend pre-season organizational meetings as assigned by Head coach. Understand the proper administrative line of command and refer all student and parent requests or grievances through proper channels. Complete WIAA rules exam and video by the start of their respective season.
Qualifications:
Have knowledge of and background in the sport of basketball (prior coaching experience at the high school level, club coaching experience and college level playing experience is preferred). Continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field. Strong communication and organizational skills. CPR/First Aid certified. Must be loyal to the total athletic and educational program of Martin Luther High School. Application materials will be accepted until the position is filled.
