Job Description

Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Daily Living Skills Coach plays a vital role in our Independent Living Program, working directly alongside adults enrolled in long-term care who are building greater independence and self-determination in their everyday lives. In this role, you will provide individualized, hands-on coaching across a wide range of daily living skills — including personal care, nutrition and meal preparation, household management, budgeting, time management, and community navigation. Far more than an instructor, the Daily Living Skills Coach is a skilled ally who meets each member precisely where they are — honoring their pace, respecting their goals, and celebrating every step forward. The people you serve include seniors, adults with disabilities, mental health conditions, and/or lived histories of trauma, all of whom bring remarkable resilience and strengths to their journey toward independence. Every interaction in this role is grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centered framework. That means approaching each member with genuine curiosity, respect, and cultural humility — recognizing that members are the foremost experts in their own lives and experiences. You will not prescribe a path forward; you will walk alongside members as they discover and define what independence looks, feels, and means to them. An equity-conscious lens guides how we understand barriers, how we communicate, and how we show up — with care for the whole person, not just the skill set.
