Job Description

Overview We are seeking energetic and dedicated Head Coach's to lead our youth hockey program with enthusiasm, expertise, and a passion for developing young athletes at the Bantam, Peewee and Squirt levels . In this vital role, you will inspire players to reach their full potential, foster a positive team environment, and promote sportsmanship and teamwork. Your leadership will help cultivate a love for hockey while emphasizing skill development, safety, and fun. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on aspiring hockey players and contribute to a vibrant hockey community. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive training plans (on and off-ice) tailored to various age groups and skill levels, emphasizing fundamental hockey techniques and game strategies Lead team practices, dryland, scrimmages and games to improve individual skills and team cohesion Foster a positive environment that encourages sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among players, coaches, officials and fans Oversee game-day operations, including player rotations, strategy execution, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols Collaborate with assistant coaches, parents, Player and Coach Development Committee (PCDC) and the association board to coordinate schedules, communicate progress, and address concerns Promote health and safety standards by ensuring proper equipment use and injury prevention measures are followed Qualifications Prior hockey coaching experience is highly desirable, level of play considered if no coaching experience Ability to communicate effectively with players of all ages, parents, and staff in a positive manner Passion for mentoring young athletes and fostering teamwork through sports Join us at New Richmond Youth Hockey Association to inspire the next generation of players!
