$1,380 (Seasonal Stipend) Job Description Sherman Jr. High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Head Cheer Coach to lead and develop a positive, disciplined, and school-spirited cheer program. The Head Cheer Coach will be responsible for organizing practices, coordinating performances, and promoting teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship among student-athletes. Primary Responsibilities Plan, organize, and conduct regular cheerleading practices Teach fundamental cheer techniques, routines, and safety procedures Choreograph cheers, chants, and halftime performances Supervise students during practices, games, and events Promote school spirit and represent the school in a positive manner Ensure compliance with school policies and athletic regulations Coordinate with school administration and athletic staff Maintain equipment and uniforms Monitor student eligibility and academic progress Provide a safe and supportive environment for all participants Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Prior cheerleading and/or coaching experience preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents Knowledge of cheer safety standards and best practices Must be able to pass required background checks CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Certified Coach through WVDE Working Conditions Requires evening and possible weekend commitments Seasonal position aligned with athletic schedules Indoor and outdoor activities depending on events Application Information For more information, please contact:
