High School Assistant Tennis CoachPOSITION SUMMARY
The High School Assistant Tennis Coach is responsible for providing instruction and coaching to students as a means of developing tennis skills and contributing to all student athlete success in the classroom and on the field. The Assistant Tennis Coach is further responsible for ensuring and encouraging sportsmanlike conduct amongst all students and staff. This position is posted for the 2026/2027 season.CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The High School Assistant Tennis Coach:
Uses a variety of coaching techniques and methods along with media to meet the needs of student athletes and the tennis program as a means of improving the abilities of student athletes in the assigned sport. Assists with the supervision all high school tennis activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship. Works with other members of school staff to plan and put in place instructional goals and objectives to ensure overall educational development of student athletes. Follows performance criteria for competition and evaluates student athletic abilities on an initial and regular basis. Helps to ensures all necessary precautions and safeguards are in place to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities. Helps to monitors and enforces student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation. Assists in the development and coordination of a continuing system of evaluations of all coaches within the tennis program and makes changes based on findings and the ongoing needs of the tennis program. Accompanies and supervises student athletes during athletic competitions in assigned sports when traveling to compete. Helps maintains a regular system of files containing all material relevant to the tennis program including eligibility forms, transfer forms, grade reports, and ensures that all ACSD#1 District policies are followed. Applies and enforces student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips of school property in accordance with ACSD#1 policies and the student handbook. Encourages sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation. Assists in the maintenance and inventory of all fixed assets of the tennis program. Assists in the process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all program athletic equipment. Annually establishes and meets performance goals. Other duties as assigned. This specification should not be interpreted to describe all of the duties which may be assigned to an employee at this level, nor should persons assigned be expected to necessarily perform all the duties described.)SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Ability to use effective communication skills; robust knowledge of the sport of tennis including strategy, rules, and coaching; ability to use time effectively; good organizational skills; ability to maintain a positive relationship with other staff by collaborating and working cooperatively with them (including supervisors); knowledge of physiological, psychological, emotional and educational behavioral development of children and/or adolescents; and ability to help coaches achieve consensus.ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory:
Candidate must hold, or be eligible to hold, a Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) endorsement as a Head Coach- Tennis, Assistant Coach
- Tennis, or a Head Coach endorsement in another sport.
Preferred:
1+ years of experience as a high school tennis coach. Valid Wyoming teaching certification Bachelor's degree in a related fieldPHYSICAL ABILITIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Requires travel to multiple sites.EVALUATION
- Evaluation of this position shall be by the High School Athletic Director/Head Coach.
