POSITIONS
Three nine-month, tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor in the School of Kinesiology beginning August 2027. Position 1
Exercise Physiology:
Applicants with research and teaching expertise in exercise physiology, including: biochemistry of exercise, bioenergetics, cardiovascular disease, health disparities, infrared imaging, mitochondrial metabolism, protein metabolism, skeletal and cardiac muscle physiology, nutrition, sports nutrition, pediatric physiology, thermoregulation, neural/autonomic physiology, and vascular biology and physiology. Position 2
Motor Learning/Control/Development/Behavior:
Applicants with research and teaching expertise in motor learning/control/development/behavior including: the learning and/or control of movement, neural control of movement, motor development, and motor behavior. Position 3 Open research and teaching focus: Applicants who will complement our current areas of expertise, including exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor behavior, and exercise psychology, or contribute to a new area of expertise, including biostatistics, data science, physical activity epidemiology, health, sport or performance analytics, wearable technologies, or large-scale movement, health, and performance data analytics. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop or augment national and international recognition and further strengthen a nationally recognized research program, as evidenced by a strong record of impactful peer-reviewed publications and citations, presentations in national and international venues, and external funding Engage in rigorous research resulting in scholarly publications, with preference given to peer-reviewed journal articles in prestigious outlets Teach undergraduate, master's, and doctoral courses in support of the School of Kinesiology program Recruit, advise, mentor, and train graduate students Direct and supervise student research, including undergraduate and graduate projects, theses, and dissertations Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of curricular initiatives at the program and School levels Provide institutional service to the School, College, and University, as assigned by the School Director Engage in professional service within the discipline and, as appropriate, community Participate in professional activities that support the well-being of the program, School, and College Auburn University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field at the time employment Postdoctoral training or equivalent research experience Demonstrated record of, or strong potential for, securing external research funding Evidence of a strong record of peer-reviewed publications Evidence of an innovative and independent research agenda with potential for future impact Experience or demonstrated potential to teach graduate-level courses within the program's degree offerings Effective interpersonal, communication, and collegial skills Interest in interdisciplinary and collaborative research Commitment to the values, mission, and strategic priorities of the College of Education ( https://education.auburn.edu/college-of-education-strategic-plan/ ; https://education.auburn.edu/about-the-college/vision-mission-and-core-values/ )
