Summary of Job Duties:
The Department of Art and Design seeks a committed educator to serve a 1-Year Visiting appointment in a generalist Graphic Design curriculum. Candidates should have knowledge of a di-verse range of approaches in the field of graphic design. The successful candidate will teach introductory courses in Graphic Design, including those serving as Foundations courses for both Graphic Design and Studio Art majors. Candidates with emphasis in typography, branding, and publication design will be viewed favorably. The position is responsible for 24 contract hours annually (a 3/2 teaching load). The Art Department at UAFS offers a B.A. in Studio Art, a B.S. in Graphic Design, and minors in Art His-tory and Studio Art. The program holds NASAD accreditation. The B.S. in Graphic Design at UAFS boasts an active alumni network and strong job placement rates. It is housed within the Windgate Art & Design building, home to robust facilities for Design, Book Arts and Letterpress, Printmaking, Digital Photography, Drawing, and Painting. The position reports to Art Department Head.
