Job Description

The School of Counseling, Human Performance, and Rehabilitation at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UA Little Rock) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor, Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) (P00001125). This is a 9-month tenured/tenure track faculty position, to begin August 16, 2026. The School of Counseling, Human Performance, and Rehabilitation (CHPR) provides a quality education to a diverse student body at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our goal is to prepare students with the special knowledge and skills for professional work in education and human service fields, and to enhance students' abilities to be successful in their chosen fields of study. Our School offers five undergraduate degrees, four graduate degrees, and five minors: American Sign Language, Educational Interpreting, Health and Exercise Science, Health Science, and Sport Management. Summary Of Job Duties This position is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communications Sciences and Disorders with qualifications and professional background sufficient to teach courses in CSD. An ideal candidate will be able to teach all courses in our undergraduate curriculum. The position will contribute to keeping the curriculum content current and reflective of standards in the field, while also teaching courses within the discipline. The person selected for this position will mentor students across the curriculum and contribute to student recruitment, retention, and program initiatives. This position requires active engagement in scholarship and contributing to service at the school, college, university, and community levels. This position requires residency in the greater Little Rock area during employment. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Required Qualifications Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Audiology, or a very closely related field. Preferred Qualifications Professional experience in the Communication Sciences and Disorders field; Teaching experience in multiple modalities (in person, hybrid, online); Experience mentoring or supervising students; A research agenda that allows for publication and funding; Experience working on and preparing funded research projects.
