Job Description

The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) is seeking to fill an Assistant Professor of Silviculture/Forest Ecology position to beginAugust 2026, with primarily employment at 110 University Ct, Monticello, AR 71656. UAM, one of twenty campuses of the University of Arkansas System, is located in southeastern Arkansas in the beautifultimberlands, rich in outdoor recreation activities, and approximately 100 miles south of Little Rock. UAM is a comprehensive, residentialand commuter, undergraduate institution also offering selected master's degree programs. Job Description and Responsibilities.

Duties include teaching courses in Silviculture and Forest Ecology, Dendrology, and other related courses in the discipline of Silviculture/ Forest Ecology in the College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources, including the following specific duties: Prepare coursematerials, such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts; Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers; Plan,evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction. Non-teaching duties will include academicadvising, committee work, and scholarly research in the field of Silviculture / Forest Ecology, including grant funded research within theCollege of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources, presenting at academic conferences, and other related research within the field.
TRAVEL:
Domestic travel to academic conferences 2 - 3 times per year, with each conference lasting between 1 - 5 days.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Must have a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in Forestry, Forestry and Forest Products, Agriculture, NaturalResources, or closely related field.
