The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Professor, English [
R0149472
]. The Department of English is searching for a writer of Literary Nonfiction with an MFA or PhD and at least one published book of Literary Nonfiction. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position beginning in fall 2026. Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate students in creative writing and forms course, as well as advising graduate students on thesis manuscripts and translation projects and serving on departmental committees. The successful candidate's writing and teaching will demonstrate the literary excellence and social engagement to which our program is committed, while helping to lead the Literary Nonfiction program of the M.F.A. and Ph.D.in English with creative dissertation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must possess an M.F.A., Ph.D. in English with a concentration in Literary Nonfiction, or equivalent credential, from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and demonstrate a significant publication record with at least one book of Literary Nonfiction in print or in press by a nationally recognized publisher at the time of hire. We will consider ABD candidates. Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
