Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor, Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences (Career-Track) Posting Number req25793 Department Speech Language & Hearing Sci Department Website Link https://slhs.arizona.edu Medical Sub-Speciality Location Tucson Campus Address Tucson, AZ USA Position Highlights The University of Arizona's Department of Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences seeks a Full-Time Speech-Language Pathology clinical faculty member. This is a 12-month position scheduled to begin in late fall, 2026. The position will be expected to: Provide evidence-based clinical services and student clinical supervision for adult neurologically-based communication disorders. Lead our robust aphasia program and develop a cognitive-communication clinic. Participate in the teaching, scholarship, and service activities of our academic program. The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences is renowned for its clinical training programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, as well as its active doctoral program. Our department includes 30 faculty members, 104 graduate students in three degree programs (MS, AuD, PhD), and 208 undergraduate students. Duties & Responsibilities The workload in the department, under present policy, has a typical distribution of: 90% clinical teaching and clinical service. 10% departmental service.
Teaching and clinical service:
Assess and treat clients with communication disorders. Participate in clinical education. Collaborate with departmental faculty to provide evidence-based services. Assist clinical program leadership with clinical administration or development as assigned. Teach in the classroom related to area/s of expertise as assigned. Develop areas of specialty practice. Service activities include but are not limited to: Participate effectively on departmental and university committees. Participate in student recruitment, admission, retention. Relate to and interact successfully and collegially with students and peers. Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications, corresponding to rank: Master's or Ph.D. degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, or equivalent. Five years of clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Licensure or license eligibility for practice in Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Arizona. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Previous experience providing graduate student supervision. Experience with adult populations. Preferred Qualifications Experience with program development. Experience in providing services to culturally and linguistically multifaceted populations. Experience with aphasia, cognitive communication disorders, and motor speech disorders. Spoken/written Spanish language skills.
