Description:

The Department of Government at Claremont McKenna College (CMC) invites applications for a tenure-track position, at the early assistant professor level, in International Relations with a focus on international security. The position will begin on July 1, 2027. The successful candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. in political science by the time of the appointment. The successful applicant will teach courses in international politics, international security, and U.S. foreign policy. The teaching load is two courses per semester. The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to maintain an active, high-quality research program and the highest standards of excellence in teaching. Anticipated Annual Salary Range:

Procedures and Timetable:

Applications should include a cover letter; curriculum vitae; research statement; teaching statement that addresses the candidate's ability to teach, mentor, and inspire students representing a broad range of backgrounds; evidence of teaching effectiveness; and a writing sample.
