GENERAL SUMMARY
An instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction so that each student may meet course outcomes. An instructor is also responsible for working with the dean, chair, and colleagues to improve student-learning experiences. In fulfillment of their compensated workload and in addition to their duties, service beyond instruction is an integral part of college faculty performance. Duties and Responsibilities Teaching/Instruction Effectively prepare and teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place. Structure classes and curriculum to support program and course outcomes. Prepare, distribute and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media, and other devices as appropriate. Conduct timely assessments of student achievement. Maintain accurate student records and comply with reporting requirements. Assign and submit grades based upon assessment and college grading policy. Utilize a variety of technology-based programs to access and input information related to student records and college/school/department processes (e.g., Banner, D2L, grade books, etc). Maintain posted office hours to assist students outside the classroom. Utilize retention strategies to maximize student success. Provide a safe and secure learning environment. Provide for the security of facilities, equipment, and instructional materials and maintain safe working conditions. Create and model a quality-learning environment to support a diverse student population including students with disabilities or special learning needs. Respond to student inquiries within 48 hours (business days, Monday - Thursday). Advise students in career pathways. Assist students with registration, advising, and graduation processes. Incorporate, as pedagogically appropriate, current technology in classroom and distance learning. Service to the college In addition to teaching, this position requires active service to the Business department and institution.
Responsibilities include:
Contribute to curriculum review. Participate in institutional and programmatic accreditation activities. Assist in the management of the budget, supplies, and equipment for the program. Assist in the scheduling of courses and identify instructional materials. Market the program and recruit students for the program. Coordinate program advisory committee meetings. Assist chair as needed. Remain current with discipline content/technology and teaching/learning strategies. Participate in required professional development activities. Maintain current credentials or licensures as required by program or accreditation. Attend college, center, faculty, and other meetings and activities. Abide by all college and board policies. Build positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues. Perform other duties as assigned. Complete assigned duties, reports and other required documentation on time Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Education :
(Minimum/Required) Master's degree in Business - Marketing, Management, Entrepreneurship or related degree. Master's degree with at least 18 credit hours in Business, Marketing, or Management All degrees and credits must be from an accredited institution
Experience:
(Minimum/Required) Three (3) years of recent full-time experience in a business position or the equivalent of three (3) years full-time, recent teaching experience at a post-secondary level with part-time work experience in a business position
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
(Minimum/Required) Current knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet research skills. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work in a team Ability to work with diverse groups of people Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Marketing and recruitment ability Knowledge of instructional technology or, as needed, receive training in instructional technology tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience (Preferred): Recent teaching experience at the postsecondary level. Using the latest business technology, i.e. AI and ML, business intelligence, digital commerce, web marketing, social networking, etc. Experience in an international business or experience managing within a multinational organization. Good track record of engagement with business and industry. Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish is preferred, in support of serving a linguistically diverse student population.

Computers, printers, Microsoft Office 365, and instructional technology.
