Open Until Filled Job Description General Description of the Position Reporting to the Department Chair, the Associate Professor) is a full time 9-month Tenure Track Faculty Position. The Assistant Professor will be responsible for the primary task of teaching courses offered as part of the identified major curriculum. The qualified candidate will be adaptable and capable of teaching a variety of courses, both online and in-person, within the program of study. It will also be expected for the candidate to serve on committees, and participate in official activities on the Department, College, and University levels. Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The following are the functions essential to performing this job. Teach undergraduate courses including but not limited to: motor control and learning, anatomy and physiology, clinical applications in exercise physiology and other related areas Develop undergraduate and graduate courses in area of expertise and interdisciplinary programs. Develop online courses. Advise majors. Supervise field experiences and internships. Serve on department/university/community/collegiate committees. Engage in scholarly, research and creative activities.
Qualification Standards Education:
Earned doctorate in exercise/movement science or kinesiology is required; however, an ABD, who is nearing completion will be considered.
Other Preferences:
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate evidence of two years of teaching experience in higher education and potential for successful external funding in research areas such as, but not limited to, neuromuscular assessments, clinical assessment of response to physical activity and chronic disease, and clinical assessment of the role of exercise/physical activity in the prevention of chronic disease over the life span.
