Job Summary The College of Education seeks a tenure track Assistant Professor to teach courses in Elementary Teacher Education pedagogy, assessment, curriculum, and child development. This faculty position, based in the Department of Teacher Education, is a 10-month academic year position. The successful candidate will teach online graduate and face-to-face undergraduate courses in Elementary Teacher Education pedagogy, assessment, curriculum, child development; support teacher candidates in their development into effective Elementary educators; and supervise teacher candidates in field placements. All GCSU faculty share the responsibility of teaching our core curriculum and providing foundation courses for majors and non-majors alike. To carry out our public liberal arts mission, we seek faculty with the ability to engage students as they launch their intellectual journey. Any offer of employment is contingent upon final funding allocation for Fiscal Year 2027. Responsibilities Faculty - Teaching - Teach online graduate and face-to-face undergraduate courses in Elementary Teacher Education pedagogy, assessment, curriculum, child development; support teacher candidates in their development into effective Elementary educators; supervise teacher candidates in field placements. May also teach GC1Y (typically freshmen)/GC2Y (typically sophomore) core courses; and/or other courses in areas of expertise. Teach 4-4 course load each fall and spring semesters. Courses are taught both on campus and in an on-line environment and faculty are expected to regularly come to campus. D. degree in Elementary Education or closely related field. Other Required Qualifications Collaboration and collegiality with program, department, college, and university faculty. Demonstrate an ability to work with individuals of various backgrounds. Able to conduct face-to-face (classroom-based) and online classes. Required Experience Evidence of successful teaching (a minimum of 3 years teaching experience with Pre-K through 5th grade learners). Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in

Experience with accreditation reporting. Preferred Experience Evidence of successful teaching in higher education. Proposed Salary Salary range starts at $56,000.00 to $61,000.00.
