Part Time 75% 9-month academic year Instructional Track appointment The University of Iowa Department of Neuroscience and Pharmacology in the Carver College of Medicine seeks a part-time (75%) Instructional-Track Assistant Professor for a 9-month academic year position starting in August 2026. The faculty member will teach undergraduate, graduate, and health professional courses in Pharmacology and Neuropharmacology possibly other courses in their area of expertise. This position requires in-person instruction on campus in Iowa City, Monday through Friday. We expect that a candidate will have a record of exceptional teaching accomplishments and curriculum development in Pharmacology.The University of Iowa provides an exceptional intellectual and cultural environment. Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
Education Requirement:
Candidate must have a relevant doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent).Required Qualifications:
Experience in teaching Pharmacology for undergraduate students Experience in teaching Pharmacology for graduate (Ph.D.) students Experience in teaching Pharmacology for health professionals Experience in small group medical student teaching Experience in Pharmacology undergraduate and graduate curriculum development Published record of pedagogy tool development Facility with Learning Management Systems (Canvas) and on-line content deliveryDesirable Qualifications:
Experience as course director of undergraduate, graduate (Ph.D.), and health professional Pharmacology courses Experience in evaluating faculty teaching performance Experience in assisting with training grant (T32) development Online Application Required Documents Curriculum VitaeLetter of Interest Number of References:
