Job Description

at University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description Description The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology seeks a Research Assistant Professor who will conduct academic research in association with a faculty member or team. The appointee will perform research broadly focused on developing and interrogating novel therapies for heart rhythm disorders. These experiments will include, but not be limited to, single nuclear sequencing of atrial tissue, production, management, and assessment of 'omics' signatures of canine atrial fibrillation models in response to targeted gene therapy, and identification of new gene therapy targets. The appointee will also oversee the scientific output from the lab, grow the lab's research in new directions, manage personnel, assist with grant and manuscript submissions, and establish collaborative efforts with other laboratories within University of Chicago and externally. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits-eligible. The Biological Sciences Division, other academic units of the University of Chicago, and UChicago Medicine are all contained within one compact campus in Chicago's Hyde Park.
