Job Description

Maintain contemporary expertise in assigned teaching areas. Develop, revise, and teach courses in the athletic training program that align with accreditation standards, reflect changes in the profession, and incorporate various perspectives. Foster advanced and innovative teaching methods (e.g., team teaching, interprofessional education); coaching and mentoring students. Participate in scholarly activity within contemporary expertise. Provide service responsibilities as assigned within the School of Health Professions (SHP) and University committees; promote the SHP and KUMC mission and vision. Participate in professional local/state/and national committees and/or elected positions. Engage in interprofessional teaching, research, and service within the department, school, university, and community. Assist the Program Director and AT faculty in maintaining accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) and remaining complaint with the CAATE Standards for Professional Education. Actively participate in recruiting, admitting, advising and mentoring students. Participate in clinical practice as warranted. Eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in Kansas. Certification and in good standing with the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC). Previous clinical practice in athletic training. Experience with athletic training clinical education and teaching students at the master's level Evidence of scholarship in education, athletic training, or related field in application materials. Communication. Interpersonal skills. Decision making skills.
