Job Description
Assistant Professor, Program for Advancement of Learning (Special Appointment) The Program for Advancement of Learning (PAL) at Curry College is an internationally recognized, credit-bearing academic program designed to support neurodiverse learners, including students with diagnosed learning differences (LD), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and/or Executive Function challenges. Established 55 years ago, PAL has served as a model for strength-based education, fostering student success through innovative, metacognitive-based personalized instruction. We are seeking a full-time Special Appointment (Assistant Professor) to instruct credit-bearing courses in one-on-one and small-group settings using developmental and motivational frameworks. This position requires an ability to employ a range of evidence-based instructional techniques, emphasizing creativity, flexibility, and real-world application. PAL faculty individualize the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student, facilitating academic and personal growth through practical application.

Key Responsibilities:
Teach credit-bearing PAL courses designed to support neurodiverse learners in developing academic strategies, executive functioning, and self-advocacy skills. Utilize a strength-based, student-centered approach that prioritizes relationship-building and individualized learning strategies. Serve as an Academic Advisor, providing guidance on student's academic progress Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to integrate inclusive learning practices into the broader academic community. Contribute to the ongoing research and innovation of PAL's teaching methodologies. Engage with Curry College's new Neurodiversity Center, playing a role in its strategic initiatives to expand services and address the increasing complexity of student needs.Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate preferred in Psychology, Counseling, Special Education, or a related field. Credentials for performing and/or tailoring instruction per psychological and educational evaluations. Experience in developing individualized educational plans, including recommendations for assistive technology and accommodations. Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working closely with parents, faculty, and multidisciplinary teams to support student achievement. Knowledge of developmental and motivational learning frameworks for emerging adults. Demonstrated education and experience working with students with learning disabilities and related disorders.Salary :
